A former fashion designer and a graduate of the Esmod Oslo fashion school, Lina has just completed her degree in product design at Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences. Her product designs are frequently inspired by children and her work is informed by environmental concerns.
First shown at the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2014, Elefant is a fun and colourful recycling system (and stool) that encourages children to learn about waste sorting from an early age. The trunk lifts to accommodate large items such as cardboard boxes, whereas the tail spins to allow bottles to be deposited. It is made of moulded plywood and aluminium, with a detachable canvas bag for a belly.
