Blake Bortles was born on April 28, 1992 at Altamonte Springs Florida to proud parents, Suzy and Rob. He had a brother, Colby, who turned professional baseball player before switching to coaching.
Before enrolling at UCF, Bortles attended Oviedo High School and lettered in both football and baseball as a teenager. The receiver concluded his career at the high school level with 5576 passing yards and 53 touchdowns, and the two marks remain the best in Seminole County.

Career
On scholarship, Bortles went to college at the University of Central Florida. He enrolled at the UCF in 2010 as a true freshman and had to sit out that year, he played in ten games for the Knights in the 2011 collide season. During his sophomore season in 2012, Bortles played in all 14 games and had 3,059 yards; 25 touchdowns; and 7 interceptions.
That year he had his best year in his college playing the Knights to victory in the first championship of the American Athletic Conference, and also leading them to victory against Baylor in Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.
This made UCF’s first major bowl win ever. Less than one week later, Bortles threw a wrench into the plans of those expected to lead the team next year, he declared for the NFL draft. He only made a singular appearance with the Rams in 2019 where he completed a single pass good for three yards.
The next year, Bortles moved to the Denver Broncos but was only a practice squad player. He was able to return to coaching the Rams at the end of the 2020 season.
Before the end of that summer, he was let go, but he was soon signed to the team’s practice squad in early November. He only played for the Packers in a game against the Kansas City Chiefs few days later, before he was let go.
