The comic actor who shot to fame in the 1980’s and became one of the highest paid actors of that era Moranis dropped off the radar at a time when the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids movie series was at its peak. Some of his fans later learned that it was a personal family matter, and that was alright with the majority of them.
Career
Rick Moranis had been in the entertainment industry from a young age, and he was preparing to be a radio DJ when he started high school in mid 1970s. At this time, he used the name Rick Allen on air, and he began his broadcasting on at least three different Toronto radio stations.
By the late ‘70s Moranis had got together with another Jewish fellow, Ken Finkleman to produce “90 Minutes Live”, comedy radio specials for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. Many of the television pilots were written by Finkleman and Moranis with both comedians performing in a number of sketches.

By this time, they gained infamy for their mockumentary approach to comedy. Despite this, many people thought that Rick had officially left acting during this time but he later came to explain that he only made a conscious effort to disdain choosing the wrong roles for his future projects.
He also got to reveal that this new film would just be titled “Shrunk” and it was going to be his coming out party, so to speak, back into the world of acting after two and a half decades.
Relationships
In 1986, Rick Moranis wed a costume designer Ann Belsky. They would however have two children together during their time together but in 1991, Belsky would be dead of cancer. With the task of bringing up two children on his own shoulder Moranis had to make an important and respectable decision.
He distanced himself from the entertainment industry slowly and fully committed his time for his children and made sure that they have at least one good parent around when growing up. It was later
realized that this formed the basis of his retirement from the public domain, and many people applauded this decision. Visit our website for more news about net worth of celebrities.
